چکیده

Abstract In our previous work (J Chem Eng Data 2021, 66(3):1385–1398), a residual entropy scaling (RES) approach was developed to link viscosity [a thermodynamic property calculated with an equation of state (EoS)] using simple polynomial for refrigerants. Here, we present extension this much wider range fluids: all pure fluids and their mixtures whose reference EoS experimental data are available. A total 84 877 points 124 351 collected from 1846 references. The investigated contain wide variety light gases quantum effects at low temperatures dense strong intermolecular association. More than 68.2 % (corresponding the standard deviation) evaluated agree RES model within 3.2 8.0 mixtures, respectively. Compared recommended models implemented in REFPROP 10.0 software (the state-of-the-art thermophysical calculation), if dilute gas is same way, yields similar statistical agreement while having simpler formulation fewer parameters. To use model, package written Python provided supporting information. Graphical

Viscosity Correlations for Refrigerants and Other Working Fluids from Residual Entropy Scaling

We apply a modified scaling of viscosity with residual entropy in a manner analogous to that proposed by Rosenfeld (1977). We consider the viscosity-entropy scaling for a reference fluid (refrigerant R124 (1-chloro-1,2,2,2tetrafluoroethane) ), and demonstrate that the viscosity for many other refrigerants scales with residual entropy in a similar manner. Finally, we use a corresponding-states f...

Liquid Density Modeling of Pure Refrigerants Using Four Lattice-Hole Theory Based Equations of State

The present study investigates the performance and relative accuracy of four lattice-hole theory based equations of state in modeling and correlating the liquid density of pure refrigerants. Following the gathering of a database of 5740 experimental liquid density datapoints of 36 pure refrigerants belonging to five different categories including CFCs, HCFCs, PFCs, HFCs and HFEs, ranging from 6...

Evaluation of monitoring network density using discrete entropy theory

The regional evaluation of monitoring stations for water resources can be of great importance due to its role in finding appropriate locations for stations, the maximum gathering of useful information and preventing the accumulation of unnecessary information and ultimately reducing the cost of data collection. Based on the theory of discrete entropy, this study analyzes the density of rain gag...

Regional Evaluation of Hydrometric Monitoring Stations through Using Entropy Theory

Proper design and operation of monitoring systems for water resources management is one of themost important issues of water quality and quantity and accuracy and adequacy of data. The properevaluation of these data has a determining role in the correctand consistent decisions in the areacovered by the system. Therefore, determining proper distribution and number of monitoringnetwork stations a...

An entropy based theory for the viscosity of strong glasses

One of the main applications of the stochastic matrix method is the evaluation of the probability of finding boroxol rings and dendrites in a boron oxide glass. In this work, we calculate the configurational entropy of B2O3 using this probability and Shannon’s definition of entropy. The isentropic temperature is evaluated obtaining a very good agreement with experimental data. Entropy is introd...
